Washing Steps

• Turn inside out: This protects the applique edges from rubbing against other clothes or zippers.
• Use cold water: Hot water can shrink the fabric or melt and weaken the adhesive backing or stitches on the applique.
• Choose a gentle cycle: Select a delicate or gentle machine setting to minimize pulling and stretching on the attached design.
• Skip harsh chemicals: Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which break down threads and adhesive bonds over time.

Drying and Ironing

• Air dry: Hang or lay the shirt flat to dry. Tumble dryers can cause heat damage, shrinkage, or peeling of the applique edges.
• Iron safely: Never iron directly on top of the applique. Turn the shirt inside out or place a thin pressing cloth over the design, then use a medium, low-steam setting.
